15/12/09

Today, we started filming.
I managed to snap 343 pictures, as my job is to film our project and were still going to need a good few more, around 550 at least.
But so far a massive bulk has been done and all thats left is editing after the rest of the pics are taken.
Here are some photo's of the set and set pieces that have been created so far:

Blogger Catch Up

Over the course of the past 3 weeks, we have created a plasticine set which will be filmed to show a 10 second trailer, and then between a 20 and 30 second short film on the storyboard that your team/group have decided on.

During our progress we have:
Designed the set
Made plasticine models
Set a backdrop for the set
Added clothing to all characters
Taken several documentation photos
Added props
Completed most of the set pieces
Fully finished the story board to a final draft

All that is left to do is film, edit and perfect out final product.
With less than 2 weeks before the closing for the christmas holidays, there will be a nearly 3 week gap before production and finalizing will resume again.
The final date for the product is the 29th of January, and it seems we are well on target and may have plenty of time to spare for those little finishing touches.

Animation Methods

The Flip Book Is A Common Method Of Animation. It Can Be Simply Done, But Many Require Great Detail For A More Fuller Picture And For It To Be More Dramatic.
It Is Simply Done By Drawing On Image On A Piece Of Paper. Then On The Next Paper Underneath The 1st, The Same Image Is Drawn Again, But Slightly Different. This Continues Till A Simple Animation Is Complete. The Collection Of Paper Is Then Flicked From On Page To The Next, Where It Will Seem Like The Image Is Moving Showing A Simple Animation.

Another Example Of Animation Is The Praxinoscope. The Praxinoscope, Invented By French Scientist Charles-Emile Reynaud Was A More Sophisticated Version Of The Zoetrope. It Used The Same Basic Mechanism Of A Strip Of Images Placed On The Inside Of A Spinning Cylinder, But Instead Of Viewing It Through Slits, It Was Viewed In A Series Of Small, Stationary Mirrors Around The Inside Of The Cylinder, So That The Animation Would Stay In Place, And Provide A Clearer Image And Better Quality. Reynaud Also Developed A Larger Version Of The Praxinoscope That Could Be Projected Onto A Screen, Called The Theatre Opaque

Layout Editing Sites

The BBC Website Is An Example Of A Layout Editing Sites, Where You Can Take Away The Bit's You Don't Want And Add Bit's That You Do.
This Is Handy If Your Needing To Keep An Eye On A Certain Type Of News That Will Be Updated. The Part Of Taking Out The Bit's You Don't Need Is Very Handy As If there Is A Certain Type Of News That You Don't Care About Or Even A Certain Article, Then You Are Free To Remove It As You Wish.
iGoogle Is Another Example Of A Layout Editing Site. Works Just Like The BBC But With Applications. You Can Play Games, Browse YouTube, See The Weather, Read Your Emails, All By Just Moving A Few Boxes Around To How You See Fit. You Can Still Take Away The Windows You Don't Need Too.

Text Formatting Sites

Blogger, As You Know By Now Is A Text Formating Site. Basically Used For Storing Information, Your Personal Needs And AnyThing You May Just Need To Type Up As A Personal Reminder.

Facebook Is Another Example Of A Text Formating Site. While It Is Used Mostly To Chat To Friends And Family, It Can Also Be Used To Share Video, Pictures And Information. Face
book Is Extremely User Friendly. Id Say It Was The Best Site Ive Used For Accessing The Above Information. With Simple Menu's And Layouts, Is Easily Accessed, Its Free And Seriously Useful.

Video Sharing Websites

YouTube Is Arguably The Leading Video Sharing Site.  With Millions Of Users, YouTube Is A Very User Friendly Site That Is Free To Use, Upload, Comment, Create Accounts And View Videos. With Millions Of Videos On YouTube, You Are Most Likely To find Whatever It Is That Your Looking For With YouTube.

MegaVideo Or MegaUpload Is Much Like YouTube In Many Aspects. It Does Have A User Friendly Interface However, You Are More Likely To Be Puzzled With What You Are Doing Unlike YouTube. There Are 2 Services For MegaVideo/Upload. You Have Your Basic Package, Allowing You To View A Limited Time On Videos, Something Around 72Mins.
With The Full Package You Will Have To Pay A Small Fee. I Believ
e This Fee Is Either Monthly Or Yearly, Possibly Both. With This However You
Get Unlimited Viewing Time. An Option To Download The Video You Are Watching In Any Format Choice,  An Arrange Of File Sizes to Download In.

All In All, It Depends On What You Like And How You Like It. If Viewing Movies With A Small Fee To Pay Is Your Cup Of Tea Then i Would Recommend MegaVideo/MegaUpload.
If Your After Simple Little Videos With Plenty Of Options And No Fee To Pay, Then YouTube Is Where You Should Head To.
